Computing the Final Grade

The components of the class have different weights. The test have much more value than do the data projects.  The final is worth half as much as one of the tests.

Each test is worth 25% of your final grade.  I drop the lowest grade.  The data projects together are worth 10% of your final grade. They are worth 5% each.  The reaction paper is worth 5%.  The final (Concepts Test) is also worth 10% of your final grade.

Mid-Term Grades for Collegiate High School and Dual Credit Students

I am required to submit mid-term grades for duel-credit and Collegiate High students during Spring and Fall Semester.  I will compute those grades as follows:

Test 1                     40%

Test 2                     40%

DIP 1                      20%

Midterm grades are required on a specific date provided me by the duel-credit office.  If a student takes a test or gives me their first data project after the deadline for submitting midterm grades, I will assume a ZERO for that test or project.  If the student ultimately sends me their tests and projects I will of course replace the ZERO, but I will not resubmit an updated grade for the mid-term.

1 Test 1 76 25 percent 76 X .25 = 19.0
2 Test 2 64 25 percent 64 X .25 = 16.0
3 Test 3 88 25 percent 88 X .25 = 22.0
4 Data Project # 1 100 5 percent 100 X .05 = 5.0
5 Data Project # 2 90 5 percent 90 X .05 = 4.5
