Computing the Final Grade

The components of the class have different weights. The test have much more value than do the data projects.  The final is worth half as much as one of the tests.

Each test is worth 25% of your final grade.  I drop the lowest grade.  The data projects together are worth 10% of your final grade. They are worth 5% each.  The reaction paper is worth 5%.  The final (Concepts Test) is also worth 10% of your final grade.

Mid-Term Grades for Collegiate High School and Dual Credit Students

I have to compute mid-term grades for collegiate high school and duel credit students.  I will base the mid-term grades on Test 1, Test 2, and Data Project (DIP) 1.  Each test will be worth 40% of the mid-term grade.  The DIP is worth 20%.  I will add the attendance points to the mid term average.

Here's how I compute your final score.

1 Test 1 76 25 percent 76 X .25 = 19.0
2 Test 2 64 25 percent 64 X .25 = 16.0
3 Test 3 88 25 percent 88 X .25 = 22.0
4 Data Project # 1 100 5 percent 100 X .05 = 5.0
5 Data Project # 2 90 5 percent 90 X .05 = 4.5
6 Reaction Paper 85 5 percent 85 X .05 = 4.25
