Texas Business Opportunity and Development Program (TBOD)

Del Mar College has added a new program to assist business owners, especially those in construction related industries, interested in doing business with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). This program is the TxDOT Texas Business Opportunity and Development (TBOD) Program. TBOD operates in coordination with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC).

The Texas Business Opportunity and Development Program (TBOD) works with certified Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBE's) to increase the number of minority contractors participating in federally funded highway construction projects while providing support services programs to contractors. This program offers training to clients on Business Development and Construction Management along with one-on-one advising. Access to information on bid opportunities in highway construction and all related fields will also be provided to participating firms.

Services include:

  • Classroom and Workshop Components
  • Industry Technical Assistance
  • Vendor Events
  • Industry Partnering at the Local, State, and Federal levels

If you are interested in being considered for this specialized training program, please complete the TBOD Application and email it to tbod@delmar.edu or fax to (361) 698-1024. Additional information about applicable industry codes and the TBOD Program flyer are available here:
