Purchasing and Business Services: PBX/Mailroom Services
The PBX/Mailroom at Del Mar College is physically a small space, but its purpose is critical and enormous--to facilitate communication within the college community, and to connect Del Mar College
to the South Texas area. Lead by supervisor Mary Cruz, this team handles questions and routes phone calls for all departments in our organization. They assist faculty, staff, and students with routine mail and large mailing solutions that extend far beyond the college service area. Intercampus mail is efficiently sorted and delivered throughout the college campuses. Most importantly, all these services are performed with a smile and dedication to the mission of our organization.
Mail for official Del Mar College business is processed with postage at a reduced rate using a local mail service. Each month, departments are charged based on the mail processed for them during the month. Oversized letters, flats and parcels are processed as well at USPS rates, which are also charged back monthly (for more information, use this link to the United States Post Office for up-to-date rates and other mailing information.) Bulk mail-outs are processed based on the number of pieces and the mailing zones involved, or they may be better out-sourced to our mail service provider. The mailroom staff is happy to advise you on the best, most economical way to send your mail. Note: All mail is processed via the United States Postal Service. United Parcel Service shipping solutions are available through the Warehouse/Receiving Department at the Multi-Service Center on Ayers St.
