Automatically Alphabetizing a List of Citations
Without having to do an
inordinate amount of cutting and pasting,you can far more easily order
your citations by using MS Word's <Sort> command. Use the following
that you have already created
that you have a hanging indent
that your citations are double-spaced
as per MLA-style.
highlight all the citations
by dragging your mouse through them. Do not highlight the Works Cited
In the bar menu, click on <Table>.
Click on <Sort>
Now all you need to do is click
on <OK> (The dialogue box should already
be defaulted to Sort by: paragraph and Type: text.
The ascending command should be enabled. ).
